Moni is a storyteller and former beggar. She lives with her parents in a slum in a city in Bangladesh. Moni has no brother to support her elderly parents so she gives support to her family based on what she earns making handicrafts at the center. Moni loves to tell stories to the young girls at the day-shelter. The day-shelter prevents child trafficking and child marriages by providing free education and skills training, meals and medical care for beggar girls. Since the girl’s shelter is free, parents are willing to let their girls go to the shelter, learn useful skills and grow up before they are married.
