At 18 months old, Sam couldn’t sit up, had no one to cuddle and care for him, and was thin and helpless. His parents both suffered mental disabilities and could not even care for themselves. Sam’s few extended family members could help only a little. When they met him, community volunteers dreamed of a better life for Sam. They took him to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with acute malnutrition. The volunteers raised funds to buy him milk powder and supply the nutrition he was lacking, and they took time to dream for a little boy who could not dream for himself. That small boy is now on the road to better health.
